Jill Donovan’s need for a creative outlet and lifelong obsession with cuffs turned into more than she could have ever dreamed. But not before being humiliated in front of 20 million people.

A self-proclaimed “regifter,” she was once a guest on Oprah and unexpectedly embarrassed by a panel of “etiquette experts” who labeled her as rude and tacky on air. Devastated and dejected, she turned tragedy into triumph. She taught herself how to make cuffs and gifted them to friends and family.

Ms. Donovan was born in Baltimore, raised in Pensacola and graduated from ORU where she met her husband Terry. She went on to get her law degree at the University of Tulsa, and was a practicing attorney and adjunct law professor at TU when Rustic Cuff was born.

Ms. Donovan will be the keynote speaker at the OBA Delegates Breakfast. She will share her story of passion and love as head of a fast-growing company. As a member of the OBA and a former TU College of Law professor, she brings keen insight to members of the bar. Admission is free for OBA delegates, $30 for nondelegates. The Delegates Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. See all registration information on the Registration page.

The company has also designed a limited-edition OBA bracelet. Net proceeds will benefit OBA Lawyers Helping Lawyers and Oklahoma Lawyers for America’s Heroes programs. They will be sold at the Annual Meeting registration desk beginning at 11 a.m. on Nov. 1. Supplies are limited, no preorders.
